I'm still tinkering with it, but I'm at a good stopping point that may benefit both me and the next buyer, who should be someone who has always wanted an E9 but can't afford $13k for a car that's advertised as rust-free but probably isn't anyway. A crushingly complete description, with 150 high-res pics, can be found at http://www.robsiegel.com/3.0cs/1973 BMW 3.0cs ad2.html.

$7000 will buy it. I thought I'd try floating it here before subjecting myself to the vagaries of eBay. I might get that on eBay; after all, that 3.0CS that'd sat for 19 years, had a seized engine, and a rust situation described only as:

"Rust is in and around the front fenders. The right side rust is near the shock tower / top edge of fender ... and the left side seems to run along the inside edge of the fender. The rear, trunk and nose look good."

just sold for $6877 (see http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/?cmd...184185&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_1158wt_589).

I think you'll agree that no one has ever posted a more thorough, more honest description of an E9 than I have in this ad, and with that thorough a description comes a reduction of the risk inherent in buying an E9 with any amount of rust.

Serious interested parties can reach me at 617-365-eight three oh three from 9am to 11pm EST. I like to talk about cars as much as the next guy (actually I like to talk about cars WAAAAY more than the next guy), but please, read the description first, and try to keep calls and questions specific to the car.

The car is here at my house in West Newton, MA.

Hey you forgot a photo of the antennae <G>. That is the way to document what is for sale.

GL.

That's one of the best sale descriptions I have ever seen. I sold a bunch of cars and I have to say, I have a lot of respect for people like you. Good luck with sale.

My friend is currently looking for one. I see you're from Mass, you should check out the local car forum: yuppieracing.net and list your car there. I'm "Rafal" on there too. The forum name is misleading, there is a variety of cars from classic 911's to F430, Murcielago, M3 or American cars. My friend has a 2800 and 3.0CS that might be restoring soon.
I want to bring my 2000cs to USA next year...

G'day thehackmechanic,

Wow - I've never seen a description like this. PM sent.

Viggen

Great nickname! ;) I've had three Viggens before (2x blue, 1x yellow).

Tundra E9 Going on eBay After New Years

I've reached the point of diminishing returns working on the Tundra E9. Here is the most up-to-date link to the description that I'll post on eBay after New Years:

http://www.robsiegel.com/3.0cs/1973 BMW 3.0cs ad2.html

The description has a link to four walk-around videos of the car.

There's no question that the car has rust, but it is described very completely (unlike nearly every eBay auction), so buyers should be able to go into it with eyes wide open. I'm estimating it'll bring somewhere in the $5000 to $7500 range. I'd take $6750 for it.

Give me a shout if you're interested.
