Purchased new in San Francisco, Ca, I acquired the car from the second owner in Mesquite, Texas in 2017. This 1974 BMW 3.0CS 5-speed has undergone a comprehensive 4-year cosmetic refurbishment that was completed in February 2026, including a bare metal (zero rust) repaint in Nachtblau and a complete refresh of the interior in a ‘Gobe-colored’ leatherette, carpeting, new CoCo mats, a newly refreshed dash from JustDashes and wood refurbishment by Madeira Concepts.
An e28 five-speed manual transmission was installed in place of the factory 4-speed, and the Zenith’s removed and Weber carburetors added and rebuilt in 2024. European chrome bumpers were also fitted to the car. I have has retrofitted/painted an optional front air dam from a 1984 e24 M635csi Euro that is included in the sale.
Other equipment includes 14″ light alloy sports wheels, brand new Falken Azenis RT615k+ Performance tires, four-wheel disc brakes with new front brake pads under Bilstein struts. The power-operated windows feature e28 window motor upgrades for all windows. I just installed a brand new Sanden air conditioning system that is converted to R134a. The car also sports a nearly complete tool kit.
The cabin was refreshed in 2024, including reupholstering the front and contoured rear seats in tan leatherette and installing a custom headliner, door panels, and carpets. Brand new Coco Mats now line the footwells. A Blaupunkt AM/FM radio is fitted in the dash and new speakers have been added.
The four-spoke MoMo steering wheel has been refinished to match the interior wood and fronts a 150-mph speedometer, tachometer, analog clock, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer has rolled and shows 41,120k miles. The top-end was rebuilt by the previous owner - tmu.
The 3.0-liter M30 inline-six features a recent oil change, dual Webers (the original air intake/filters are included in sale) and all drive belts were replaced with Gates in 2026 during a/c installation. A five-speed Getrag manual transmission was retrofitted in place of the factory 4-speed gearbox (not included). The engine bay also includes a new strut tower brace. A new battery was installed in 2025. Extras include owner's manual, service/repair manuals, and a new water pump in the box, distributor cap, fuel and oil filter, spare coil and Weber carb parts.
This three-owner E9 is now offered with the owner’s and repair manuals, extensive records, extra parts, and a clean Oklahoma title.
The car is located in Oklahoma City. Happy to assist buyer with shipping logistics. Asking $70k o.b.o.
NOTE: Car will be listed on BaT but wanted to offer it here first.)
