Good Morning

Looking for some help from the experts out there. 1974 3.0 CS with lots of typical rust. Lots! Crazy to save the car? Maybe. But I’m going to try. So, my question is what to do with rusty body panels like front L&R fender panels that are NLA. Has anyone had any luck sourcing these? Options? One shop claims to have donors, but 5K each! Yikes.

Have to give a little more info… pictures etc.

there are parts out there but be prepared to pay pretty big bucks for certain things.

There is a used fender on Ebay that just got reduced from $1995 to $1695. Halfway decent as I can tell from photo.

The pictures don't trully show what rust you have to me. It could be superficial (sandblast &paint & all is ok).
Or sandblasting could show that the rust thinned the material severly/competely and then it still may not require a full new fender. If the rust is limited to the bottom corner near the sill, then Walloth and Neesch in Germany sell just that portion for 150 euro that a competent shop could easily weld in.
Also a replacement section for the ~4 foot long top edge near the engine is available.

Mind you, likely the fender needs to be removed (cut loose) which in itself is quite some work to get back in place.
