1982 633csi parts car any interest?

Looks like i have decided to put my coupe up for sale. First thing that will be up for sale is my 1982 633csi parts car i acquired to use as a donor for a complete motor build and 5 speed transmission swap. The car was purchased from co part. It does have the period correct bbs mesh wheels on it. It is complete. Body damage is minimal. I was going to steal every part I could for either a retrofit or whatever. I can create a bill of sale. I dont think it can be registered without quite a bit of headache. Again this was not my intent. It was just going to be scrapped after I pulled what I needed. Color is orange on black interior.

Buy it take what you need sell the rest. Junk the body and you can make out fairly well.

It cost me $1000 delivered to my door. This is what I'm looking to get. If you are interested give me a call 925-250-4814 if i do not pick up just leave me a message. Car is located in Concord Ca 94521

Is this a local sale? What is the build date on the e24. Is it e12 based or e24? Do the doors have E9 map pockets? (that's an easy way to tell).

Markos,

I'll have to go home and look. I want to say its e12. I honestly did not pay attention.

Is the E24 dashboard not cracked?

Yes, I believe in miracles...

HB Chris the diff is what threw me off. If it was a late production 83 It would have the e28 diff. This one does not Its an early version that bolts upward into the floorboard. Looks like an E9 underhood.

Arde I don't remember. Ill shoot some photos tomorrow and answer questions with more detail.

Its in my side yard I had enough parking to put 2 buses end to end on the side of my house and it was covered. My days have become long so please excuse my memory.

US 1983 is e28 based.

I'm not sure when they flipped model years during e24 production. The last e12 based e24's ended build in 06/82. My '71 E9 was built in 07/70. I've heard that BMW cuts over to the next model year in September, but that obviously isn't always true. I've been hunting for an early e24 and I've been asking specifics when it's an '82/'83. So far all of the '83's have been e28 based as you suggested.

All cars sold in the US since 1968 MY comply with DOT practice of having a sticker with model year. This means most manufacturers mirror the US practice of starting the MY in September or shortly thereafter. The e28 based 1983 e24 was introduced in this fashion in 1982. The European practice of taking vacations in August helped to facilitate this.

sorry for the late reply guys. Production date 10/81 Titled as an 82. I pulled the old paperwork. Dash is cracked. Does have the E9 style pockets. 231k miles

Photos attached. The car is dirty as i has sat in my side yard for months.
