2002 brake booster

I was wondering what is so special about them, I keep reading about people needing them for some reason, and cant figure what it is. This price on these things is outrageous, I have seen $250-$600.
I ask because I came across not one, but indeed 3 of them today.

well i guess it is because, as many other model boosters, they are NLA, and there are no spares nor replacements, and if no brake booster, brake operation is not good
...that is life !
 
It's the tii booster that's desireable because it is smaller than stock ones and will alow triple weber installations to fit better.

Right. It is the tii booster that is in demand (for the reason that Stevehose cites above). The booster from a carbureted 2002 doesn't have the same cachet.
