Hello Everyone,
I know very little about the CSL vehicles (I've only restored BMW's from the '80s) - I was hoping someone
could tell me what racing groups the CSL vehicles competed in during the 1970-1979 time frame?
I'm going to the car shows in Monterey in 2 weeks with a friend who's well versed in classic American
cars from the 60's and 70's (he's currently rebuilding a '71 Pantera). We have tickets for the Historics on
Friday, Aug 18th, and were hoping to see a CSL in the paddock and on the track...
I once owned an '88 M5 - I thought it would be quite educational to see the race cars that led to this
group of vehicles... this video spawned my interest in the CSL's:

At 7:37 they show a twin turbo straight six being installed in a CSL body and mention it was producing
nearly 750hp...
Perhaps I'm mistaken, but the 750hp engine appears to be installed in an Art Car, which later appears
in this article?
