Hi,

can someone provide printed evidence, that the csi had the factory option 205/70 XWX ?
I need it for FIVA registration.

thx for help

Perhaps not a valid proof, but the guys at www.longstonetyres.co.uk
told me that the circumference of the 195/70 VR 14 (which Michelin doesn´t make anymore) was just about the same as the current 205. Thread is the same of course. I have these on stock wheels on several cars, and they are very very good in all conditions AND they look very perod correct.
Their source is an old sales broschure with various measurements.

205/55 X 16 is roughly equivalent to 195/70 X 14 in diameter.

195/70 X 14 = 24.7" in diameter

205/70 X 14 = 25.3" in diameter

205/55 X 16 = 24.9" in diameter

I can't find reference to anything wider than 195, even for the CSL. Here is a price list for "extras" that includes various tire widths, but I can only make out 195/70 as the largest width:

This sheet comes from here, under "BMW Preise PKW Programm":

Try sifting through the sheets linked from this page (there's a bunch). Maybe you'll come up with something:

Prices in 1973

The scan of the optional equipment chart also has prices. It is amazing ot me the 3.3Li cost more than the CSL. Those last two doors really hurt the resale!

One day a fine 3.3Li will be worth more than a CSL againg....

Muaahhhh

Seriously, the 3.3Li, fully optioned, is one hell of a classy ride. It´s day will come. Make mine dark blue with black leather interior and a Becker Mexico Vollstereo
