hello, my e9 does not have door mirrors since when they restored it they removed them and mounted others, now I want to mount the original ones, but I don't know where they are located, there are some that have them at the end of the door and others in the middle, would anyone know where go?

Mind you that there are also 2 types of mirrors, each with their own foot, and thus different measurements values if you measure from the trim to the bottom of the foot as in the pics that @coupedegrace so kindly provided.
In my next mtg break I will run to my garage and measure the positions on my (EU) 1973 CSA; my mirrors are of, so i should be able to measure out the center of the bolt holes for you.

How easy to have a car that you can just draw on....

Fyi, my car seems original to me.

The 2 holes are aligned parallel to the top edge running front to rear; 1st, draw a horizontal line at 22mm from the edge.
The center of the left hole is exactly beneath (vertical) to the end of the top edge of the door. Drop a line from that point perpendicular tethers forward -rearward edge of the door.
The intersection gives you the centerpoint of the most forward hole.

83 mm to the right is the rearward point.

All are measurements to center of the hole(s).

My car looks a bit mangled because it is. The mirrors I guess have taken a hit in it's life. I think so the holes are deformed because of that. Also I chipped off some 1 mm thick filler to get a good view on the metal state: it needs some attention)

If anyone would like I have a template pulled from the original euro placement on my 74 (flag type)

Just to beat a dead horse, we know you are in Europe, but you also have a CSI which was europe-only. Your mirror goes at the very front of the door.

Don’t ask me how I arrived at measuring it this way but it’s good to have a few different member inputs.

I have 2 Coupes a 1972 USA version and a 1974 Euro one. They both have different sideview mirror placements. The USA version gets some getting used to because it is so far back the it makes you feel like you have astigmatism. Affectively you can only get about 1.5 eyes worth of an image unless you fully turn your head to look. The Euro version has its own issues. It is placed where the wind wing gets in the way and, for me, obscures the view. Ive had the 72 a lot longer and I think I've acclimated to it better.
Having said that you should be able to use the rubber gasket that goes under the mirror as a template to make the holes for the mounting hardware.
The unique mounting hardware nuts that fit in the mounting holes are hard to find and it's close to impossible using standard nuts and bolts unless you remove the door cards and have the windows up.
Regards, Jon

2 types of mirrors with own foot ?
could you explain, please ?

@deQuincey : I think we have the flag type and the trapezium type mirror as they are often referred to.

As the bases (their foot) is different looking, I assumed that also the mounting would have different spacing.
But your question offered me the insight that my assumption may be too quick; they might also share the same bolt pattern.

thats it, they have the same base, so the hole pattern is the same
as I have you in high esteem as a delicate connoisseur, i though I might have some wrong assumptions in this field, hence the question that you kindly answered
regards

Hola, gracias por sus respuestas, ya tengo referencias para montar los espejos, ahora supongo que tendré que montar los que tienen los siguientes números: 51161804452 y 51161807702, ¿es correcto?
