Looks like it also fits a Bavaria so you should be able to find one in a junk yard.

Are they really any different than the coupe bumper mounted lights? Still available from Hella, now all plastic, I know Carl Nelson has them. They also show up on eBay.

you have to excuse me as i have been with BMW for over 10 years but am
fairly new to the Classic side of bmw and i wasnt aware that an E9 coupe was the same is this the case in your experience.

Same lamp to my knowledge fits coupes and the 2002, they aren't cheap though. However, that part number only shows up as e3. My `73 doesn't have bumper mounted lamps, that is the year they went to the tail panel for U.S. cars.

My suggestion would be to give a call to the guys over at Mesa. They're known to be E3 and E9 guys. When I needed something, even used, they mostly and magically have an an answer, even if it's a referral.

Worth trying.
