265/6 output shaft question

Hi there - two questions, and please go easy on me as I’m still learning the mechanical side of these cars…

I have a 265/6 gearbox which I just noticed has a broken output shaft- suspect it was dropped in transit or something. Anyway, first question I have a 262 4 speed- are the output shafts the same length and compatible? or secondly if not does anyone have a 265/6 output shaft they would consider selling.

Do you have a tranny shop that has agreed to repair the 265?
 
Hi Don- yeah have an early Bmw mechanic locally who is happy to go over it and pointed out the damage, suggested I try asking the forum if anyone had a spare. Thanks

I also have a spare 4 speed which is why I asked if they are compatible- assume the 5 speed is longer but was unsure.
