2800 in New Jersey

Too bad it doesn't have the correct red handle screwdriver, would triple the starting bid of $49.

That's easily a $500-$1000 car, isn't it?

I see bumpers, toolkit, shifter surround, and some glass...we can always look at the bright side!

All the trim can be salvaged (and replated as needed). Rear lights/panel might be $75.
perhaps the trunk lid only has surface rust. This one looks rusty from sitting rather than driving and sometimes that means there's salvagable sheet metal and mechanical bits.

I bid on this car the last time it was on Ebay (July/August), but didn't get it. But, I still think it'd be worth $500 or more. I just need a place to put it (my barn and garage are full).

Stan, find us a place to stash the carcass for 4 months and we'll go haul it back to New England.

John

Just looked at this again. Surely someone needs to be beaten up for letting it get into such a state.

Has had a retrim in a ligther shade of leather (like mine). Must have been loved at some point.

At least he more honest than some sellers. We should all wear black arm bands for a week.

There's every type of owner ...

(from an earlier post) I know a guy who put a decent early E-type coupe in his driveway (totally exposed to the weather) years ago. It's been there slowing deteriorating for years. We've offered to buy it or sell it for him, and even to give him a weatherproof car cover. He'll have nothing of the sort as it's his car and he'll do what he likes with it. Sad as these are now selling in the $100-$175k range (Monterey). I'd love to have this one to restore (black or gun metal with red leather).

Imagine someone doing that to a BAT-CSL!

OK, following the song association practice I can hear Edith Piaf singing "Les Feuilles Mortes".

Drivetrain may be fine.

My 2800 was supposed to be the same color combo, nacht blau with white interior. Beautiful.

yes, it's a strange phenomenon. I stumbled across a rotting trans am and the guy was so annoyed with people bugging him about it, he left this charming note:
