2800CS on ebay...looks decent

I'm a little confused. The ad on Craigslist shows a barn find, the ad on Ebay shows a decent car. The Ebay ad says:

Recently performed :New rear drums, shoes, wheel cylinder, all brake lines+ hoses, master cylinder repair, front new brake calipers, brake pads, rotors resurfacing. New clutch master cylinder + sleeve cylinder+ new hose line.
New spark plugs , wires, ignition coil.
Fuel tank reconditioning
Fresh engine oil+ filter
Carburetor cleaning+ reseal
Restored all mechanism between gas pedal and carburetor
All seats were re done
I am waiting for right front turn signal and side window moldings from Germany. They should arrive in 6 days.
There are also some extra parts that come with this vehicle.

Are we talking about two different cars or was the barn find cleaned up?

At $23,900 it looks really good. If the rust wasn't too bad and they had more pictures I think it would have done much better.

The fogged combi gauge IMO indicates a hole above the fuse box. Where the fender meets the top of the wheel well is climbing.I wish someone had time to add all these cars VINs and pics to the registry?

Anyone can add coupes to the Registry, in fact please do. And my combo gauge fogs up on cool mornings and there aren’t any holes above my fuse box..:)

For some reason none of the gauges ever do this.

* help wanted * data collection and fact checker to the registry.

define fog? water or dirt ?
the fog you describe sounds like water. The telltale fog in this car is dirt.

I think the point is that your comment about any form of discoloration on the the #1 gauge is *not necessarily a sign of a hole in the firewall, as you suggested. You can call it fog, water, or dirt.

I DO have a hole in my firewall above the fusebox. I live in the PNW, my car was parked outside for 10 years. My dash looks like it
was salvaged from the bottom of a lake. My gauge is not foggy, dirty, or filled with water.

I'm not seeing the relationship.

Picture is worth 1,000 words!

I’ll try and be clearer....What I am suggesting is...
No fogging does not necessarily mean no hole.
But fogging (with dirt) does imply a possibilty of a hole.
What I meant by fogging is dirty inside of lens.
Not fogging from condensation.
