3.0 cs gas ??

I'll be honest. I have a Euro 10: 1 "dirty" motor. When I know that I won't be pushing the engine hard, like on an easy trip up north on the freeway at 80 or 85 mph, I have often used 87 with no noticeable pinging and after 20 years on my first ever engine rebuild I installed the first M30 B34 into my Coupe in Berlin around 1989, not a single sign of damage, the last time I had the head off two years ago.... I was more worried about putting unleaded gas into the car when it first arrived in the US. The Germans were just converting to unleaded gas at that time and there were a lot of myths that these engines would be damaged by unleaded gas.

In California, a couple of mechanics advised me to use Chevron premium which is 91 octane as first choice, Union 76 second choice. These are supposed to be the cleanest from what I have been told. Also was told that Costco uses Union 76 gas in our area. Arco gas is more inexpensive but supposedly dirtier.

Ethanol fuel is the real killer. I've replaced a fuel pump, multiple fuel lines, and struggle with stuck carbs on my CS cars due to storage.
