Hi.I'm new to the forum. Recently purchased 3.0cs
Can anyone advise of any shop in the area or vicinity that knows these cars and can fix
Thanks

VSR1.com, Mario is the East Coast expert in all things CS coupe.

Can also try Sports Car Restoration in Plainville CT, they specialize in BMWs mostly 2002s. They have a few CS coupes in progress.

Will post pics in next few days .
It's still in need to bring it up to par .would need veneer trimings to be refinished and also new passenger handle. also reupholster front seats .
Car drives great and also has some small rust spots tahta i will take care of

NY E9 coupe shops

"The little garage" on LI is known for their expertise on older BMWs

He maintains/ed quite a few E9's

Look up Bela Wood, does excellent work.

All E9s are in some state of restoration or upgrading. Looks aren't everything, every car has flaws.

Passenger handles and the plastic inserts are readily available, call Steve Peterson at Blunttech.com, 952.437.7278

Find alocal upholsterer or look in the links section for World Upholsery or GAHH.

Are you running the original D-Jet? It's a good system when well sorted and all injectors and grounds are cleaned.

Welcome to the forum Larry! (This is James in Houston by the way).

Glad you're enjoying your coupe.

Cheers
James

Welcome Larry. I used Madera Concepts for both my coupes and was pleased with the results. It's been close to ten years and the wood is still immaculate.

With regard to a upholsterer, I use Vintage on the border of Brooklyn and Queens. PM your cell and we can exchange info. There are a few others in NYC like George and Chuck who can share their resources, and a larger network found in the Northeast group on this board.

It's a journey, don't get discouraged. The board is a terrific resource, especially the search function.

Hi Larry,

Congrats and welcome to the club. Welcome again to the thinner East Coast group of E9 owners, and a further welcome to the thinnest group of e9 owners in NYC..

Ditto, the recommendations for non-NYC resources of Mario at VSR1, and Matt at Sports Car Restorations. I've used Mario for work that no one else could accomplish, and I've seen fantastic examples of Matt's work.

If you need something done quickly, I've heard good things about EuroMeccanica in Mount Vernon. Lawrence Charlemagne of Charlegmagne Motorsports has been my trusted somewhat local, Poughkeepsie resource for years, though he has a long customer queue.

As for the Little Garage, I know Matt for years. Contact me by PM.

I understand that Bella does excellent work for the wood in our cars. I, and others, have also used Madera Concepts with excellent results. The contact at Madera is Tony.

Hope to see you and your coupe soon Larry....

Chuck
