Hello E9 coupé enthusiasts,

This my first post here on the forum. I hope to become an E9 owner somewhere in the near future and will do my best to contribute to this community! And I hope to be learning a lot of course :)

I live in the Netherlands and I have come across a few decent E9's that are for sale nearby.

I would like to have your opinion on the interior of a 3.0 CSi from 1974. If have very little info on this coupé at the moment but I will be paying the seller a visit next weekend.

Besides from the state that the (refurbished?) interior is in, I would like to know if the parts and colors are original:

- Is the two-tone dashboard in beige and black an original combination?

- How about the steering wheel?

- And he center console with the 3 dials?

From the photos it seems that there are at least 3 different colors of wood finish...

Thank you for your opinions and insights!

Greetings from the Netherlands,

Jonas

I've never seen that color combo on the seats before, but you guys in Europe seem to get some odd pairings. I'd say it's unlikely. I think it's even more unlikely (if not impossible) that the dash and kick panel colors in the front are correct. Certainly they have been refinished given the condition.

That said, I don't hate any of it except for the black center armrest in the back, but that would be relatively trivial to fix.

The gauges are not original but are a good upgrade that lots of folks have done. And it looks like there is a new blacking plate or grill over the original speaker location.

In my experience rust remediation is way more expensive than even a full interior replacement, so if the car is otherwise fully sorted I would worry less about the interior as long as it is complete.

Welcome. The white pieces are not original. The steering wheel is not original. Nor are the gauges in the center but they are a nice upgrade. May not be original in appearance, but the interior looks well crafted.

+ 1 on both previous posts

the interior is nice, not original but nice and crafted with taste and appropriate skills

the most important aspects in a coupe:

- rust
- availability of all trim parts in an aceptable condition, a lot of them are NLA
- mechanics in good shape

Thanks for your insights guys! So I shouldn't worry about originality too much, as long as the quality is good.

It there a list of typical trim parts that I should check when I examine a coupé?

Thanks!

the steering wheel is a moto-lita. there was a black leather one on ebay a week ago or so. i prefer the leather one to the wood one.
