Words of wisdom needed. I seem to have fallen down a rabbit hole on this one.

We have a 3.5L motor all rebuilt and ready to drop into our '74 CS project. We pulled the 3.0 motor from the chassis and are now transferring the the ancillaries (oil pan, alternator, Power steering pump, A/C compressor.

The first challenge is the right side motor mount. The block castings are different and it appears the CS bracket won't attach to the block in its proper location (just under #2 spark plug) w/o modifications.

Is there an off-the-shelf right side motor mount that I can use?

Any other things I should know regarding this swap?

(So much for the notion of a "bolt-in" swap. *sigh*)

Thanks, all!

Rather than change the mount bracket, get the adapter plate. Carl Nelson sells it for pretty cheap. Also, in comparison to many motor swaps, it is bolt-in. You won't have to do any custom work to make it fit. Plus, the adapter plate is only needed if you use a late B35 engine. Earlier B34 engines and M90s fit without it.

Isn't that adapter plate a custom piece from even Carl? I seem to recall seeing one over there and most conversions to the 3.5 will require it. Unless you get lucky and find a block that matches up. There was a 9 month period with the later 3.5 engine where it just bolted in with exisitng mounts.

Koala Motorsports

Carl referred me to Koala Motorsports in Ohio, who makes the adaptor plate.

Really now? Huh, Carl gave me the impression he made them. Oh well. I suppose the FI/Dizzy cam nut converter has a similar story, since it isn't the OEM part.
