so, I am using the tii booster and the manifold clears great and everything but the top mount oil filter housing hits the end of the master. Soooo, I see that the bottom mount housing from the 2.8 fits directly but has a different amount of oil channels. After some research, I hear it is okay to use the early oil filter housing except for the fact it lowers your oil pressure. true? What did you swap guys do?

ThankyoU!

I used the original oil filter housing, although mine was from a 3.0. I have considered swapping in a 635 one, which can have an OEM oil cooler attached.

Rick,

Early cars had the bottom bolt canister but when it changed to the top bolt version it still looked like the early mount as shown in your pic here:

Did our coupes ever get the second type of mount and can that points upward? There is an e24 can that still points down but also has a drain nipple on it making oil changes easier that I have seen.

As far as I know, the upright canister was implemented only on M30B35s, which would preclude it being on the E9s.

Thanks,
So..... My question is: Is it okay to use the early style housing on the late model block even though the oil channels are different?
