for you guys with this setup, i have a question: how much suction do you have coming out of the bottom of the throttle body (see pic) and into the valve cover? i think there is supposed to be some there, and i have zero.

so if you pull off that little hose between the throttle body and valve cover, what happens? and how much suction can you feel coming from the throttle body?

thnks much,
alanmcg

With the log intake+MAF, where do you put the idle air actuator? It usually T-s off from the intermediate pipe between the AFM and the throttle body, then goes directly to the intake manifold.

pic

it tees off the other side and on top of the throttle body from the circled hose - you can see it in the pic.

since posting this i spoke to the boys at lajolla indep, and they said that i should NOT have any vacuum at the head cover breather tube, so guess im ok.

I can't make out from the picture, is the hose coming from a port upstream or downstream of the throttle plate?

This is for collecting oil vapors from the engine, correct?

downstream

it is hard to see in the pic, but it comes after the butterfly/throttle plate. and yes it is to vent the head cover, and (according to lajolla indep) you should have a little positive pressure from breather hose coming from head cover, and no vacuum being sucked from the throttle body (which of course means this positive pressure doesn't actually vent anywhere - whole thing seem a little hokey to me).

maybe sfdon can illuminate us on how/why this is set up this way?
