HI GUYS,.. I would increase the power and performance of my e9.

I NEED YOUR ADVICE!

ASAP ....

ENGINE CHANGE WITH ORIGINAL CSI Camshaft FROM 284 AND 3 BODY DOUBLE WEBER 48 ....

SECOND CHANCE ...

PUT AN ENGINE UNDER MY E9 3500 Motronic Remodeling UNIT AND FAR ...

SECOND YOU WITH WHICH OF THESE 2 MY HYPOTHESIS E9 would have greater power but also more driving pleasure?

I DO NOT HAVE TO USE THE TRACK, BUT I WANT THE BEST FOR MY E9 ...

How many horses could INCREASE CHANGING Motronic?

CAN I GET A 235 HP MOTOR AND ORIGINAL UNIT remapped Motronic?

THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE ...

weber 48's are HUGE and even with 3.5 liters you need a very high lift cam to pull through them AND there's very little drive-ability of the engine at lower rpm's. If you use them on a 3-liter (regardless of cam) will keep the cylinder walls washed with gasoline, very clean but very high-wear, also the fuel getting into the crankcase (inevitable over not-so-much-time) can lead to premature/catastrophic bearing failure...possibly long before the cylinder walls/rings wear out (<5000 miles)

If I had a CSi that I was working on presently, I'd get it into stock, proper tune with a fresh, proper rebuild of the engine. They can be very smooth and very rewarding drivers. Period.

In terms of overall driveability, the Motronic 1.3 unit wins easily. It is pretty much like driving an E34 535 at that point, from a drivetrain perspective.

In order to get 235 rwhp, even from the M30B35, you are going to have to do some additional work. Miller makes an excellent MAF and custom-tuneable chip which will get you to ~200 rwhp. Good headers will get you to ~210-215 rwhp. The 284 cam will get you more power up top, but give less torque down in the usual driving revs. The CSi's 270 cam is actually a nice balance between the conservative 260 and the hot 284.

Other than engine mods, have you considered the rest of the drivetrain, like swapping in a 5 speed Getrag 265, or a limited-slip differential?
