36 years

36 years - are you original owner? Congrats.

Interesting question. How many e9 owners are the original
owners? I would bet only a handfull if that.

36 years since---

February 1972--the BLUMAX has been in my care 'n keep--still like getting out for a blast or to display him at cars 'n coffee on saturday mornings.

Ariel;

You need to take that red rag to the cleaners! It's wrinkled!
Seriously, very nice job. And red tools too...

I had someone ask me if I was the original owner the other day. I didn't have the heart to tell her that I was only six when my coupe rolled off the assembly line.

I wasn't born for another 5 years!

A while back i stopped in at a petrol station by my dad's and some old bloke (sorry, but he was about 70 ) exclaimed (in a thick brummie accent), 'bloody hell, you've looked after that one well'... obviously i've not aged very well?

Hey James - your a 1981 like myself then.
When the yellow lady went to be restored it still had my child seat in the back!

bloody hell rohan, i thought you worked with numbers!!! i'm a 77, it was a good year!

You had the golf out yet much? I'm coming up with a plan at the moment as they've changed the themes for the breakfast club this year. Might try an sought out a north of london meet?

I was using Andy's car!

Pity about the breakfast club as its a great venue - as for north london - ace cafe springs to mind but is too busy and not ideal - if we get enough of us - a good pub with decent grub and a bit of sun is all thats needed really i guess.

Perhaps if we work out the location of everyone we can then start finding suitable places without making anyone travel too far.

Right I'm on for it and am in Rickmansworth , junction 18 M25.

IS the car going well for you now?

Rohan

yeah it's running really well at the moment, although i'm probably going to have to get the power steering pump replaced/removed soon as it's on it's way out.

This will disgust you, but i'm just looking at adding a load of weight by fitting a stereo as well.

I'll start another thread and see if we can work out a good place to meet. Apologises for hijacking your thread barry.

Refreshed tool kit

Arde

Do you have the contact details of the guy who made your tool kit holder as I could really do with a new one?

Many thanks

Steve
