hi,,

any advice and help on this question would be great...!

so i am planning to convert a CSA shell i have to a 3.5L m30 with a 5 speed overdrive as the standard done thing.... but i have been offered a 1989 535i aplina b10 twin turbo m30 complete car here in the UK which i would then pull all the bits from

but i cant seem to find any info on the gearbox if its a 265 or as one site i have seen suggests it may be a 290 box

is there much/any difference between the 265 and 290 box? it seems that the 290 box was used more on jaguars does a 290 box fit ok into an e9?

thanks
paul

Great idea, but its the speedo drive, unless you devise a way of fitting a new speedo clock to the pulse sensor in the diff., but thats a nice conversion, and if you dont go ahead, let me know if the bi-turbo is for sale, im only in nottingham uk.

I've got an entire Abbott system in my trunk that I was about to post - it was used to get a speed signal from my 280, but now that I'm running a 265 I don't need it anymore. Seems like it would work for this...

Whats an abbott system rb? I want to put a later gearbox in my 72 cs, but the speedo is stopping me? Where can i find an abbott system?
