5-Speed Swap

What if any specific BMW 5-speed hooks up best/easiest with the 3.0 M30 in my 73 Bavaria? From an 80/81 e12/e24? Other options?

I tried FAQ and a seach but couldn't find it, but I'm probably just blind.

Any links etc... would be great.

Search for Getrag 265, there are lots of previous posts.

Basically these trans with speedometer cable drive parts installed were on 6 cylinder BMWs in 1980-81. Maybe 82 633 too.

The same trans without those cable drive parts (which can be installed) was later used on:
1982 528e
1985 535, 635, 735
E30 M-3s
