Found this while searching for parts:

This seems similar to a recent posting that also was in Mill Valley and drew lots of comments. Not sure if it's the same vehicle - the original CL ad is expired.

Thus is for sale locally:
Barn Find E9 1970 BMW 2800 CS 4sp Manual in Silver / Blue Leather in SF Bay Area

Some of sales txt:
“Blue plate survivor E9 1970 BMW 2800 CS 4sp Manual in the fantastic combo of polaris silver and blue leather (one of my favorites). AC, power windows and manual sunroof.

Original San Francisco “barn find” BMW discovered non running in a car port in Pleasanton Ca. Car will need more sorting (AC hasn’t been looked at) but work to make it a driver has been done (see list below.)

As common with cs coupes the car has some rust bubbles starting in typical body locations and rust on the shock towers that though driveable should be addressed. The rest of the car has little rust.

To reasonably set expectations:

The car is over 50 years old and is an original survivor that has not been restored. The very old repaint is ok at a distance but it’s got chips and the clear coat is bad on the hood. The interior is orignal and complete though the leather is dry and there’s some tears on the front seats, especially driver. Dash vinyl and dash wood are in great shape and door cards are excellent. Window motors are slow. Trunk is complete with toolkit. Sunroof leaks in rain (I just keep it covered in a carport) but may just need drains cleaned. Bill Arnold BMW did an inspection, tuneup, and compression test. Compression isn’t great but car is very driveable with good power and doesn’t smoke. Has full set of BMW factory manuals. “
