71 2800 in Beverly Hills, CA $18750

All gogoout cars were previously owned by a famous actor, playboy, or racecar driver. The price goes up if the famous owner fits all three categories.

That looks like a very rusty car with a newish paint job to cover a lot of it up. The underside has a lot of patches, rockers look scary, the left fender rail looks "filled" to me and the rear seats match a rusty car. Is it just me or does it look like certain dealers/sellers take small photos to hide detail? I think if someone checked this car out in person they'd find that its a mess.

closer to a parts car

unfortunately, Dan, agree- what happened to those fender seams under the hood? and the floors have some serious ironwork done to them. I can't tell from the pictures if the rocker covers are present and at least the dealer isn't claiming it's rust-free! I think we found the poster-car for "buyer beware"!

Ahh yes, I've seen this car before. Your mention of the "ironwork". The rockers have been replaced with what looks like 4" angle iron. The VIN is 2270261. As the registry link indicates, it was registered as a '70 online.

It was posted for sale in 2012 in Chicago, and sold for $13,000. Here is a very large PDF with lots of pictures that highlights the Chicago Sale. Whoever bought it likely didn't know much about coupes, or didn't mind the shadetree rocker fix. Given that there were no registry updates, they weren't a member of the online community. Somehow it made way out to California.

Don't ask me how I've owned a coupe for a few months and know these things. I spend a lot of time online ;)

The Beverly Hills Rust Club pics do not show the painted-over inside hood brackets, light, and plunger switch that appear in the Chicago pics.

I made both of those entries in the Registry, I will update for the latest info. It's a MY 1970, built in May 1970.
