71 2800CS Listed On eBay. Very nice example worth watching

Too much me thinks for the car. Seems really nice but there is rust coming through on the lower fenders- front, can't tell what's going on under the hood as it has the darth vader color scheme, exhaust is wankey and the bottom side is filthy, which is no biggie unless you're asking 49K for it. Also, the hood looks like maybe it was replaced?

Just sayin', not being critical, love the color!

Why do I hate my Granada color and love Verona? It appears to be black res prayed Verona, but it doesn't look like goop in the engine bay. Good job on the carpet if it isn't original...

I think the car looks great. One has to ask at what price point is some visible rust acceptable. I think definitely under $12K. At $15K you know it's hiding. At $22K plus shoot for survivor with an '80's/90's respray.

I have to ask, Is the CA Verona that has been for sale in the bay for months. I think that someone mentioned that it looked worse in person, and smelled musty. If it is the car, this is the most detail we've seen online to date.

It appears as though the left door maybe had additional paint or body work, or perhaps the drivers rear quarter. The color seems to vary. The resto pictures show the drivers door but not really bare metal. Perhaps a problem area?

The classic upper fender rust is visible here, right near where the body color changes to black.

You can also see under the hood and on those stickers at least some of the black was sprayed with a rattle can.

You could buy this car and likely drive and enjoy it for a few years, but really, those fenders need to be cut off, rust eradicated then a full respray will be needed. Might as well pull the motor and trans too, to match the engine bay.

Wait so they bought it for $41K and are trying to flip it for $55? Wow! They have large stones.

On the other hand, as the owner of a restored '71 I am rooting for them too :-)

Cheers

They bought it for $24K on BAT from a "dealer" and are now listing it for $54K on Ebay.

I have seen this one in person and I hope whomever considers it will take the time to have a proper PPI done.

When I saw it in San Rafael it was very musty inside and sure wasn't worth the $28K the dealer was asking at the time.

The best ones tend to change hands quietly and privately.
