I've decided that I'm selling my E9 and 635csi donor car for sale rather than restoring it. I'm 27 right now, and as much as I'd love to restore this car, I'm not financially ready for it and I really should be spending my money on building my future instead of toys. I have two cars listed for sale, my 1971 2800cs and my 1981 Euro 635csi and I'm planning on selling them both as a set.
My 1971 2800cs is Polaris with blue interior, 4 speed manual, sunroof, 86,000 miles, and power everything. I bought her about 2.5 years ago (there is a thread on here when I bought her...http://www.e9coupe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6355). I got it from someone who owned it for 30 years, only sold her because he was getting divorced and moving to another state. She is not currently running and was last running in 2007. He said one day while driving he heard some loud pop noise under the hood and he thinks it was a relay or fuse that must have gone. I have not touched her because I didn't want to start unless I was ready to restore her. She is a clean body and is definitely worth restoring. She does have a rebuilt title which was that way when the previous owner purchased her 30+ years ago. I do not know what happened nor do I want to speculate either. I have pictures to show her condition.
I spent nearly two years trying to find the right donor to make my car look like Atan's jabberjaw (my favorite E9). It is a 1981 Euro 635csi with Alpina upgrades. There is a thread on here when I bought this car as well right here...http://www.e9coupe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10220. This donor car was going to give the 2800cs a 3.5l M90 motornic motor (218hp), 5 speed swap, and 16" Alpina wheels. She has koni suspension, is cambered in the back, and sits nice and low. She is a really nice looking car and its kind of a shame to strip her for parts for the E9. She is also not running at the moment. She last ran in '08.
I've had my cars posted on craigslist and have been getting a lot of interest (http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/cto/3054427441.html and http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/cto/3054426818.html). I thought that I should also share my cars with you guys as well. I've got them listed for $16,000 for both cars. I know many people will want one or the other but I'd really prefer to sell them both together. If you are interested in just one car feel free to message me an offer, but as of right now I'd really prefer to sell them as a package deal. I'm located in the Chicago area.
