72 3.0cs parts car? 16k

I really like the part "Not every common/horrific Coupe-rot PROBLEM AREA is a problem on this one. " That's a damming by faint praise comment if there ever was one. I take it to mean that it has some horrible rust issues but not ALL of the ones that are common. Doesn't sound like a project that makes sense to restore, and as noted in the title it's most likely a parts car.

Surely this was composed by an English major as part of his application to the "Iowa Writer's School." The ninth revision.

Now for some fun. I hope.

Parked, it appears, in 1983, run sporadically at irregular intervals. Complete, except. Ah, there's the rub, "except." Those afore mentioned parts that make up the present and accounted for batch are in questionable condition. I would describe this sad case as abandoned but with good intentions. At best. As my wife jokes about our 53 year long marriage, this car has sat for, "43 long, long years" of questionable storage and attention, if any. My response to Karen's jest, "Oh that they could be longer." Seriously.

But I digress into the personal where I dare not tread.

I will close this missive by stating, " I agree with all the posts above and welcome many more."

The above was composed with no revisions by a retired College English teacher currently in a 12 step program to deal with his life-long obsession with and addiction to various early BMW models including the 1600, e9 Coupe, e3 Bavaria and the 2000CS.
