72 Bavaria on BAT

I have seen this one....

It's a good starting point, but you are going to probably spend some cash to get it in a driveable state. Still, I drove it around the block twice and thoroughly enjoyed it, although the caliper issue is a little scary at first.

Since it is Sahara, I would be tempted to just find a better fender, rather than repair that one.

Fun little car, but it will take some work to sort out. Redo the carbs, fix the brakes, replace the fender, fixing the wiring gremlins, etc.

It's a four speed with A/C in mostly original condition...

If it was a 3.0S or Si and in a different color, I would be in the running for it...

I would be surprised if not the same car with the exact matching story of the original

I doubt it's the same car. While both e3's are Sahara and in the Bay Area, they are different model years.

The Craigslist ad for the '70 is no longer active - but there are a few photos in one of the posts at: http://www.e9coupe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20776&page=2

Compare some details in those photos of the '70 to photos of the '73 in the BaT ad - things like air cleaner color, hood prop color, coolant tank cap and the presence of beltline trim are different.

You may be correct. The story of the previous owner had be believing it was the same car.

It's not the same car. I have seen both in person.

$5100 seems steep with the work it needs, but GLWS to the owner!
