Reduced price - I have a 72 3.0csi that is a restoration project. Too many projects including a 73 tii effort and recently completed '76' 02 and something has to give. This car has been chatted about on this site. It was purchased in Portland in the spring of 09. The car had front end damage. The nose and hood have been replaced. The majority of the work to date has been suspension and mechanical including locating a very hard to find distributor...
Restoration completed to date:
- Installed new Carl Nelson lowering springs and all spring rubbers
- (4) new Bilstein heavy duty shocks
- New tie rods, tie rod ends and center link
- New sway bar bushings
- Twice powder coated struts
- Powder coated air cleaner and replated to OEM condition air cleaner housing clips
- New wheel bearings front and rear
- All (4) Ate calipers rebuilt
- New brake pads and OEM brake lines
- Triple core radiator
- Powder coated headlight mounts
- Both bumpers are in very good condition. Front overriders are needed
- Rear lights are complete and decent, some pitting.
- Hood and front fender blinds are missing
Remaining restoration needs:
- Wood trim restoration
- Carpet
- Window and door seals
The car is at Mike O'Hara's BMW sevice having the mechanics checked out. All systems work. The visible rust was in the passenger floor pans. New pans from Mike Pelly were installed. Other minor rust exists at the lower corner of the fenders adjacent to the front doors. The rockers are in good shape as are the strut mounts and trunk lip etc. New (used) seats were purchased from a E9er on the east coast. Seats are quite good for 38year old vinyl. Front seats have been restuffed by Guy's Interior Restoration in Portland. Mack's Radiator in Portland built the triple core radiator, resoldered and cleaned the expansion tank. The car has a new master cylinder, new clutch master and new clutch slave, new ignition parts including a spare set of fuel injection points. New passenger side window glass has been installed. All (4) electric window cranks work albeit slow.
Asking price $6,500 but all things are negotiable. I have more photos upon request.
Thanks
Nathan
