I find in the circuit diagrams that the later cars had a 'wipe and wash interval control unit' (#41), connected between the wiper speed control switch (#53) on the right side of the steering wheel and the wiper motor (#35). The numbers are those printed on the circuit diagram.

Since my wipers do not currently operate with the switch that was in the car, nor the new one I bought from W & N, the next thing to check is that control unit.

Can someone here tell me where to find the unit on a '74 MY car??

THANKS for your assistance.

Thanks for the info.

I found the control 'relay', and it is not the one shown in the picture in restart's response. That is apparently for earlier cars.

The '73-74 cars relay has a different number: 1 357 904. I just bought a new one on German eBay, so hope that corrects the issue. I will also check the wiper motor, as that could be the weak link as well. IF it is, I'll have a spare 'wisch-wasch' relay!
