Greetings,

I've nearly wrapped up the mechanical restoration of my '73 Bavaria. Car is registered and road worthy. Currently tuning the original, carbuerated M30. Ref: https://e9coupe.com/forum/threads/73-sahara-bavaria-restoration.37804/

I'm looking for recommendations for a body shop or restorer to address some areas of surface rust (bones are good), and to do paint correction on specific panels or a respray of the original color (Sahara) if that's ultimately what's warranted.

I'm not looking for museum/show-class restoration; rather, for a shop that's familiar with cars of this era, and can address minor body panel repairs, rust mitigation (rear door panels appear to have some rust forming between door cards and sheet metal), rehab body trim, and address failing/deteriorating door/body seals. I'd also like to shave the US spec side-markers in the rear.

per the pictures:
* The front and rear valances clearly need some help
* Have the front driver door chrome trim piece
* Have replacement passenger headlight bucket

Thanks in advance for your recommendations. Pictures below for reference.

Steve ONeill here. I am in Bucks County, PA. About two years ago I discovered a Body Shop run by Darrell Kirban. He does Pebble Beach cars for collectors. But he happens to love cars like ours. He has worked on 2002s, my Bavaria, and has two coupes belonging to friends of mine lined up for the winter. His rates are more than fair for the level of work he does.

I have attached his website. He also owns and paints and does body work on Cigarette boats. He is an amazing body guy with an amazing eye. Every word in his description is true! He built the dashboards on the two Cigarette boats pictured on his site

Thank you Steve! That's within reasonable distance from where the car is located right now (Dutchess County, NY). Seems like he does some really top notch work.

We have two brothers who do our "handyman" work. Actually they are amazing and can do anything. Recently finished building a small house. But I digress. Recently they asked about the body work he did on my Bavaria. I mentioned Darrell. Well, they went to high school with Darrell. And said he showed up with a new paint job on whatever car he was driving every week!!

Steve
