I have a brake problem can't figure out, it seems my fluid keeps leaking out as I see it on my garage floor as well as the master fluid resolver is continually low
I thought the problem was the hose running from the master cylinder nipple to the cup and replaced that, seemed ok then stated to get a soft pedal again, then within days still losing fluid. then i replaced the rubber grommet on top of master cylinder and the plastic nipple thought would fix it but apparently still leaking cannot figure out where the leak is looks dry by the grommet and new hose and new plastic nipples , could it be a master cylinder internal seal .. it def is coming out a lot but can't quite see where the leak is,, please help
Tired of driving with soft pedal and a can of brake fluid near by.grommet

thanks
Don

I am not an expert, but check to see if there is fluid pooling at all under your clutch/ brake pedal area. It could be that your clutch master cylinder needs rebuilding or replacement.

but its my brakes that are losing power and the red brake warning light keeps coming on.. clutch has already been rebuilt .. the brake pedal pressure keeps
going down and feels like barely any braking ability , I don't think it would have to do with the clutch ..

good point - if the clutch side leaks it will reduce what is in the reservoir, and make the light come on ... but shouldn't make the brake pedal spongy. try to isolate where the fluid is coming from - is it the hose or the master cylinder. remember brake fluid eats paint ... so it should be somewhat obvious.

If the clutch master is leaking the fluid may be flowing back thru the firewall, behind the pedals and carpet, and accumulating unsee below the carpet in a pool beneath the driver's feet. Lift up the carpets to see.

If the brake master is leaking the fluid may be accumulating in the brake servo. To check this one, remove the brake vacuum hose that leads to the intake manifold, from the servo and insert a stick with something absorbent down into the servo. If it comes up wet you've got a master cylinder problem.

That would be my guess. The seal at the back of the MC fails and the vacuum in the booster draws in fluid.

"barely any braking ability" sounds like the symptom of a failed booster. ATE boosters will fail when exposed to brake fluid.
