This Euro 1973 3.0CSI is a solid running/driving car but it has been in dry hibernation for many years so it will need some attention to make it roadworthy as is. I see it as a good base for a full restoration. The original color is Ceylon Gold.
The car fires right up every time with no smoke (even with weeks between driving) and just purrs. The engine feels very strong on the road and pulls hard under acceleration. The transmission shifts perfectly with no odd behavior or noises. New complete BMW factory exhaust has recently been installed along with a new battery and rebuilt brake calipers.
The interior seating, carpeting and headliner are all there and in good shape with the exception of the front seats which have some splits in the leather (pictured). The wood trim is in good shape but will need refinishing.
As far as the chassis is concerned, there is rust in the right front shock tower and one hole in the pan under the pedal cluster (both pictured). The car has some bubbles under the paint in a few areas and a bare surface rusted area exposed on the driver front fender where the paint was removed and or chipped away. There also appear to have been some patches welded into the rear passenger floors at some point in the car’s life. Many of the other typical E9 problem areas are rust free and totally solid!
