150$ plus shipping car ran amazing with this head , heard it myself and everything will bolt up

Mark, You want an 82 and later head with fuel pump provision. Buying a used head which hasn’t been pressure tested can be problematic.

This head came off of a euro 2.8l that was tested and was a very strong motor if the op needs a 82 and up I also have a e28 b34 head that can be pressure tested for an extra 30$ and I have a 3.0 cs head out of currently running motor just let me know thank you

Chris has made the point- the goal here is a later head with a fuel pump fitting.
Later head has the improved coolant passages that seldom crack.
Fuel pump head means no electric pump hassles.

You can buy one or you can make one.

Never buy a head without knowing the thickness and never buy a head unless it’s been checked by a machine shop.
A warped head can be impossible to take apart or machine.

I’m not an expert on heads but the b34 wouldn’t have a fuel pump fitting I don’t believe. Maybe @sfdon can tell us if fitting a b28 on a b30 block

I didn’t know the op was

that is true but an electric pump does have very quick starts, and less cranking time means less wear since a very substainable amount of engine wear happens on start Ups, I personally had a good reliable experience with a 30$ pump from eBay I did run fuel returns at the weber Dgv dual carb set up , b28 does bolt up to 3.0 and could raise compression some since it has a smaller combustion chamber

I agree b34 head is recommended even though all b28 heads I have are tested on running driven By me cars with working temp guages, however I have heard about early heads having that issue! None of mine have had it , and it is always a good idea to check for warpage with a good straight edge and a feeler guage for warpage

Chris, Thanks for the heads up. I will add this to my search and hope to have my 3.0CS up and running by HB Car show.

The Csi does not have the pump opening on the head. Your head belongs on a fuel injected engine.

someone local just called and said they wanted to take the whole 3.0 cs motor sorry... i have 1 2800 head for 150$ plus shipment and a 1000 miles head that received a full rebuild 500 plus shipment , i believe you'd use the stock 3.0cs head gasket not the 2.8 ,fuel pump electric of drill a hole, can also wait for the right head I'm sure there's a 3.0cs one out there

I have an ‘82 1277378 head that came off my ‘74 3.0CS parts car. I’m building (one day) a M90 for my ‘70 2800CS, so I don’t need it. Start a conversation if interested.

Later coolant passages
Later intake port
Fuel pump head

Thanks for responding with this part. I’m very inverted. Does it need to be machined? What’s the price for this part? Thanks
