I don't know if this is the same one that has been for sale out on PV for a while... no affiliation, etc.

1974 BMW 3.0CSi, This beautiful csi coup was imported into US on 6/27/1986, it has been with current owner since Oct/1989. The car looks and drives excellent, with 5 spd trany, new leather interior, fresh paint job. It is a very complete car, with many extra parts that are available with the car at this price. No major mechanical, or rust issues with this vehicle, garage kept at all times, only driven on special occasions. VIN 2263694, e-mail at ([email protected]) for more info and to schedule test ride.
$30,000 firm

Yes, this car has been for sale for awhile. I drove this car about 5 years ago. The owner was/is an aviation mechanic and he did most of the work himself which was somewhat obvious. It still needed a lot of sorting, but it looked nice at the time.

Looks nice, but I think it is overpriced by a bit. (Not that I am a pricing expert. Still trying to figure out the lay of the CS Land)

Looks like a bumper conversion since this is a '74. Can't tell from the pictures but the front bumper brackets each only have 1 bolt holding them in,.

Not a fan of that exhaust but looks like nice car but maybe not $30k

Are / should we be logging cars like this on the registry? Might be nice for a historical reference.

Believe this is the 74 Euro 3.0CSi. For 30K, one would expect the Coupeking's full stainless steel exhaust and not some cheap Meineke specials. Body and paint do look pretty good, but more detailed pics are needed for a better valuation of the car's true worth. 30K probably not, 20K...more likely.

I didn't see the Euro fog light, thought that was a standard on all Euro cars
Looks like there is one of the two tone (Italian?) front turn signal lenses in the part

I saw and drove this car in September of 2009. Although a nice presentation overall as you took in the details it became a bit disappointing, even at a lower price point. At that time, it didn't have a trunk lid liner nor a tool kit. The wood had been badly refinished in a glossy finish which showed many imperfections and had two modern grill-less speaker/tweeters at the speaker location. The seat leather pattern looks to me like it belongs to a 74 or later, doesn't it? The door panels don't show any perforation/pattern. Didn't all the doors have some pattern or perforations in the upper area, depending on year? these are just smooth. It drove OK but smoked a bit under load. Wheels, chrome and leather were good. Underside didn't show anything alarming. It may not be a bad car for 6-8k less.

BMW Classic did confirm that the VIN belongs to a Fjord CSi delivered to Italy October of 1972.

1974 3.0 CSi--70K brutal miles

I was encouraged to meet the owner and to look at his car about two years ago by a usually reliable source--it was a waste of about four hours of my time!

Then priced at $27K--it had numerous "less than" details to be an attractive value at $18 and many items that were not in acceptable condition or in keeping with my standards. It would have cost dearly in time and money to get it where it should be.

I agree with Luis--it has and may still have--a long way to go to unravel what I saw then to put it in an acceptable condition. A knowledgable Coupe owner would quickly pass on this car with all those visible shortcomings.

And--that exhaust system is absolutely an unacceptable mess--a deal killer!!!
