I found this while doing a CL search.. it sort of made me gasp and then sigh:

According the to ad, the present owner is responsible for many of the modifications to this vehicle. Ironically (or intentionally), there are no engine or underbody photos.. despite the M635CSI & 280hp claims.

I once restored an '85 Euro M635CSI so I look at this car and think that in the right owner's hands, magic is possible. The first two photos are from the ad; the next three are of my vehicle. I notice this vehicle has no orange or red side indicators; not sure if this is original or a modification. The federalization paperwork would be interesting... my M635CSI was federalized by Frank Fahey in San Diego.

Anyways, if someone is looking for a cool E24 shark project.. this could be a diamond in the rough.

Interesting car, it is probably rust free but who knows the engine details.
Perhaps it went through federalization using glued in side reflectors, that is what I would do :)...

It’s BS- no M635 until 1984 in Europe. i’ve asked him for the vin #
Note there’s no engine pic.

Who installs headers on a Euro m6?
Already has headers….

I've seen that e24 in several photos over the years, my reaction is something between a chuckle and a gasp every time I do. I love Torque Thrust wheels, I had them on my 69 Camaro convertible but they need to stay on American muscle. I also wonder what underneath's those fender flares. It's such a cool car with all the right stuff, it deserves to be brought back to its greatness. I did a partial restoration on. a similar car during Covid, I only sold it because drove very similar to my e9 and I wanted something more modern and faster.

"$19,800 with original paint or $22,500 with a brand new paint job with excellent quality". He's asking for an added $2700 for a "brand new paint job with excellent quality" - did he get that price from a bidding war between Maico and Earl Scheib?

OMG, the wheels belong on a Mustang.. Fender mirrors? And the badging is obviously wrong....

Reminds me of a Pontiac Grand AM I saw once..the guy had capitalized on the split grille and added a BMW roundel.. just to show folks that he had a real furrr-n car...

I do not know if the M635 had a tach which was "M" labeled but the US M6 does. This car's tach is standard for a routine 635 however.
