85 motronic 1 vs. 89 motronic 1,3

I have a 85 m30b34 out of the car for rebuilding with the manifold 3.2/3.4 which I think is motronic 1.0 without knock sensors and a schrick 284 cam. I want to run 1.3 with wrecking yard parts of front dampner/trigger, complete manifold (stamped with 3.5)with wiring harness and engine computer of (179) from a 88-90 535,635.735. I also want to run a mafs instead of a vane system. I realize I should have started with a m30b35 but am commited to the b34 now. Does the 85b34 have bolt holes in the block for the knock sensors of the 1.3 system? and are there any problems with the intake ports matching between the two intake manifold systems. Any other problems that I have not mentioned that I will need to consider?. thanks for your time
 
Good news for you- the 1.3 Motronic for the 179 ecu doesn't use knock sensors.

Bad news for use- the m30b35 manifold doesn't fit the b34 head.
 
3.2/3.4 manifold vs. 3.5 manifold

can I use a 85 3.2/3.4 intake manifold to run motoronic 1.3 with parts from a 89 3.5 motronic engine by transfering all the parts except the actual manifold?
 
My mistake- the head and the intake manifold do bolt right up.

I guess I was thinking of the completely different shaped ports and different gaskets that each uses.

Your port-matching will be off, but some E24 guys switch over to the B35 manifold anyway, as it seems to give them a slight mid-range torque bump. Will it be right, not really, but it does, apparently, still help.
 
Here is the head that will go into Joe Kelly's car next week - waiting for the Schrick 284 from Carl. I am a big fan of porting...
