9 blade fan?

I got mine using the E34 part numbers. Just had to switch the fan clutch and the fan, works great so far.
 
e28's use them. There's also a red 8 blade fan on e23's if you want an upgrade that looks closer to original. I don't know if you can still get the red ones from BMW, but I have found a couple at the u-pull-it.
 
not sure about the origin, but mine is black, was fitted about 10 months ago and i couldn't reccomend it highly enough. I realise it's not a standard/original part for an e9 but i had so much trouble with over heating before that it's solved, that i'm really not that bothered...

Neither E21 or E30, but just about any of the big 6 engined cars after about 1977: E12, E24, E23, on.

On later water pumps the fan clutch screws on, instead of being held on by four bolts and I think most replacements available now are like this too, so you need to have fan clutch and water pump that are compatible.
