I had a Pagoda before my coupe, it was beautiful but drove like a truck compared to the e9. I still love them, this one is just amazing.

I had a 67 230SL that I restored and I loved it but the coupe is even better. Vince, shouldn’t a 68 still have the earlier turn signal headlight doors?
 
Not sure how that engine swap will affect value.

Color combo is awesome though.

Too bad there's no good swap candidate for the automatic.

My wife's 280sl is WAY too strung out with its 4.09 (?) rear end. 1st gear is a useless granny gear. These cars needs a proper OD transmission. Like a 722.6.

If you're in the market, best to get a stick shift and hunt down pieces for a g265 swap. Too bad wifey can't drive a stick.

Chris,

I feel like I kinda know 113s and what to look for, like the matching stamped numbers on the aluminum panels, factory spot welds on the front fenders, and the little factory body line that lines up with headlight bezels on the inside of the fenders. But, I don't know the answer to your question about the turn signals.
 
Nice one.

Prefer these with a standard transmission, have a friend with 4-speed manual Pagoda, it's pretty nice to drive wound in.

Sorry for the picture of a picture but here's the 71 I restored back before my coupe. Our girls were so small, they are both college grads with real jobs now.

It was very solid car with all the documents from new, even had the window sticker from Mercedes of Beverly Hills. It was $11K in 1971, all that money and no AC for southern cal! The wheels were a little blingy but they were the rarer 6.5 inch (versus 6) alloys.

I think they drive pretty decent for an old car. New Bilsteins helps a lot.

The fuel injection system in these things are tricky for sure. I need to find a Pagoda specialist around here to help cure this slight hesitation off the line that I can't seem to cure. Sure runs better w/the new 123 distributor, as well as adjusting all those funky throttle rods.
