A/C Console side grills

Could anyone tell me if the side grills on the E9 A/C consoles are the same as the side grills on the E3 A/C console.. I know the consoles themselves are a different shape/profile, but the grills look very similar , but are they the same?

Indeed they are not.

Recently discussed here, same overall shape except forward most end, e9 grille has vertical cut making it a bit shorter. Don't know why you couldn't use the e3 grille and trim it.

Exhibit A

I have these A/C consoles that came as spares in the trunk with my 2800CS. One side is shorter, the other appears uncut. I'm posting the photos here just for reference.
