A/C Faceplate Labels

While my A/C faceplate is in good shape, the labels for the controls ("COLDER" etc.) are barely legible. Are these labels decals or how were they originally applied? If they are decals, are they available anywhere? If not, any way to restore them?

Check with @m73. He makes both the knob labels as well as face plate decals.
