a/c aux fan wiring
Michael,
The wiring diagram is in the link above to the CS Registry, General Information, Repair manual, general electric wiring diagram- 2800 cs USA,
aux. fan. It's also in the chapter for retrofitting a/c with lots of pictures.
PM me with your email, if you like and I'll send you one as well.
The diagram is a little off. Power is supplied directly from the battery to the fan with a fuse holder in the right headlight access cover. The fuse is a 20 or 30 amp. The other side of the fan wiring is black or brown- red ( ground) to the relay below the coil on the fender. There's a great picture in the retro a/c of which terminal and it's also in the general electric.
Make sure you insulate the direct wire from the battery. A small flex cover or buy the non stick electrical wrap tape. The retro shows it above the radiator, but from the factory is hung on the headlight side and hidden. The wire from the fan to the relay is shrink wrapped if that matters.
That's it.
Fuse blowing- what I found is that the relay is double grounded. So make sure the bracket holding it on is tight, the screws are clean to ground, and there's another small jumper ground. So if something's loose or intermittant- it pops the fuse.
If you had the wiring- the second fault for the blower is the fuse holder/ fuse get's corroded and needs cleaned or sometimes just falls apart and needs replaced.
