Residents of Conegliano said the car had become an iconic fixture of the town and a selfie opportunity for locals and tourists.

I read about this but could not believe it was true -- also the article in Italian makes is hard to scan --

I think they will eventually move it and try to donate it to a local wine-yard as a monument from that town

to me what makes this extraordinary is that the lines (later) painted in the street to mark parking spaces are the size of this car like framing it

The real story? Frangelo forgot where he parked the car and was too proud to admit it. Saving face in front of a woman is the second strongest force in the universe. I once looked for my car in the wrong parking garage in San Francisco...Spent hours there. I am man enough to admit it because my wife does not read this board.
