I made a good call with a trip to the local junkyard where time is ticking on an E9 headed for the crusher. I decided to buy some extra rear seats because I figured if ever I came across some Scheel type seats I could recover them to match and just store my original Blue leather interior. Storing them is the problem. But then I thought about one of the main missing pieces of my 1966 Corvair 500. I threw out the back seats years ago (Owned it over 30 years) and it is a great storage compartment for stuff in the mean time. So I figured maybe they will fit in the Vair. The width of the 2nd gen Corvair is almost identical to an E9. I think I can build on this. The rear seats on the Vair must also weigh about 80 pounds, so this is a big win if it works. I think this car needs a Petri now. (I would not be leaving them Brown if this car ever gets refinished)

But what about electrifying the rear window lifts? ;)

Interesting exposition tracing the Corvair's purported influence on other designs, including the '02, E3 and E9. . . . . . . Chicken or egg?

Quaint idea.

Interesting thesis in the first link. They lost me when they suggested the Ford Taurus shares design themes with the 1960 Corvair though.
