A Quest for Coffee

On a recent occasion, I had an acute need for a cup of coffee.

This desire was followed, inexplicably, by the thought of being amongst an eclectic group of car enthusiasts.

But, its winter here in NYC. And, my BMW Agave e9 is typically in the midst of its annual hibernation.

The solution? Thinking outside the box of a NYC winter driving season.

Turns out, it was a very satisfying cup of coffee. A worthwhile look: http://www.iconoclast6.com/Video/?p=683

Nice. Looking at the credits, a veritable Who's Who of SoCal E9 owners. Some names I haven't seen in quite a while.

Nicely done, I raise my morning coffee cup to you!
Worth shipping the car to CA just for that event.
Keep it there for a while and drive the TARGA CALIFORNIA 2014

A lot of fun, thanks folks. Stan, a bucket list of events is being formulated. Lonnie's fantastic 2800, at the Vintage, Legends, etc. is a great example to follow. Perhaps The Great White as well....?

+1 on my bucket list. Thanks for posting that vid

Retirement Plan

A lot of fun, thanks folks. Stan, a bucket list of events is being formulated. Lonnie's fantastic 2800, at the Vintage, Legends, etc. is a great example to follow. Perhaps The Great White as well....?

I would very much like to drive the Great White around the USA for a couple of months after I retire. Go to Vintage, Legends, Targa (in my own car), Oktoberfest and visit some of the coupe guys I have met.

An attainable dream, I think the Great White is up to it.

Bucket List:

Drive 3.0CS cross country - check
Meet 100 E9 aficionados - about half way (or is that afflicionados!)
Drive Targa California - check
Drive Targa California in my own coupe
Lar Anderson Councours Boston - check
Vintage at Saratoga - check
Vintage
Legends
Octoberfest

Hi Chuck,
Nice video! When did you get out to Calif? the sweaters and hoodies make me think that it was a very recent trip. Also, I noticed that you now have a Petri, which you didn't have this past summer. Good to the East Coast representing in SoCal.

Right side, left.

Thanks for sharing, Chuck. You're now officially "Bi."

Great video and thanks for sharing over all. I look forward to enjoying the relationship you've established with others on this board in person (no slight toward you, George (nyccsi), John C, etc.)

It seems odd that bi coastal trips with cars are not as frequent. We treat it like we must cross the pond. That is one of the most endearing aspects of Europe, they get out and about. I look forward to finishing up my projects and coming out more often to play car with one of my projects vs the 02. I can't call them coupes until they are completed.

Speaking of the far left, Paul's car was my early inspiration and I enjoyed our past communication around the time of his 3002 build; Mike Pelly was a great resource to me more than a decade ago when I first got afflicted; and, Chris Macha, I covet your Malaga and hear many wonderful things about you, the person. Anyway, there have been many more on this board along the way that have been unselfish and kind. Reminds me of what car ownership was amongst enthusiasts in the same marque prior to the run up caused by eBay. Thanks to Coupeguy, Coupe King, Dave Varco, Jeff Ireland (and staff), LaJolla aka Bimmerdoc and staff, and my east coast resources Mario, PaulinPA, JHJacobs, and Scott and Mark in Connecticut. Coupe ownership on the east coast isn't easy. Especially when you are a perfectionist like Chuck; he does a great job at pressuring my completion and not making me feel alone in my anal approach to design and execution. I love your commitment and communication. Hurry up and return my agave reference!

Long rant but haven't been as active as I'd like and reflecting on my journey with the marque and more so, the gentlemen I've met. Can't wait to chat up Stan, Duane, et al., more. Happy belated Duane.

Happy holidays to all.

Thnks for the kind words Roger.

I look forward to the completion of your coupe projects. But in the meantime,
it will be great to see you at events, near and far.

By the way, your '02 certainly is easy on the eye's ....so don't be shy about showing it off!!

Chuck

Hi Chuck, Good job on both videos, while I was watching the Pebble one my wife looked over my shoulder and started naming the designer handbags the ladies were carrying as I was naming make, model and year of each car. She also got some of the cars wright. I did'nt get any of the designers correct. DARN!! Happy Holidays, Mike

Thnks David. Sounds to me that you won't
have much trouble talking your wife into a trip to Legends and
Pebble Beach...so you can practice up on naming
those designer bags!!
