unfortunately i can not place the picture, but a friend has a 1974 csi

yo may know the differences between the distributors from a CS and a CSI, but mainly we can mention two:

1- smaller cap for the CSI version
2- a "u" shaped plate in the CSI instead of conventional ruptors on the CS

well apparently this CSi has ruptors, can anyone identify a reason ? is it right ? is it better to try to get a proper CSI distributor

regards

This is the CSi distributor in first pic, it has what is called I believe a "large case." The condensor is inside the case, carbs have it outside and are known as small cases (second pic).

Hi Dequincy

It's the other way around. The CSi cap and distributor are larger because they also have electrical trigger contacts that are slid into the side of the distributor and they fire the electric fuel injectors. I discovered that the cap and rotor is the same size as an easily available cap from an 1980s Porsche, 530i.....
