It is toast Tony. That is a capillary tube and the contents within are required.

No , I have not called Roger. Is it okay to mention your name? Is there a specific double O2 sensor , or does he know what I would be referring to?

That's Double 02 salvage in Ca, ask for Marshall. Lots of old BMW parts. Ex looked for oem muffler for my Bavaria, they had it but said they were sorry to see there "door stop" go.
Roger just sold new ones on ebay

I called RogerTii. He sells them for about $89. But he was out at the moment and will get some in a week he said !
