I bought one of these. I think it was the 18" capillary tube. While it is very much identical to the original one, even the same name brand on it, the parts that actually matter are not the same. The thread going through the panel is larger and the shaft where the knob goes is larger. No big deal to modify, but if your car is really nice you won't want to do that.

And the thread is SAE extra fine, extremely hard to find so your old chrome nut will not work.
