acceleration cuts out briefly

Outside chance but try looking at the distributor cap contacts and cleaning them up. I had these symptoms, messed around with pumps and pressure valves to no effect for some considerable time. Once I cleaned the distributor contacts, all was well. It seems that it was arcing across the contacts as the engine turned faster.

This is why I asked about how it cut out. I had a similar cutout under acceleration with a 2002tii and it ended up being the points. In my case it cut out under higher load/rpm but would still try to keep running, although very poorly. Typical ignition symptoms.
