Hi, was looking for the correct measurement for the accelerator pedal mount located on the floor pan Distance between inner sill and the first ball on the bracket needed for a RHD. Car was converted from auto to manual and the original mounting bracket seems way off.

Its about 12 cm with the ruler pushed hard into the carpet of the sill to the first ball on my car. (71 2800 cs factory built rhd)

Hi there
Mine is a September 1973 build , factory RHD manual.
My bracket may have been off the car at 1 time during the mid 80’s getting floor repairs done , so hopefully they welded it back on in the correct position.

Your bracket seems raised higher off the floor pan with spacers. Still unsure why my bracket is way off, Have been told auto and manual cars should have the bracket in the same place.

By the way , can I ask , are the pedals supposed to flex at the area with the red arrow below :
Mine has broken at that point and I am wondering if I could repair it somehow, if it flexes that would make repairs more difficult .

I have tried to repair the same fault. Failed. Made the operation of the pedal seem stiff. Then spent the time driving with it wondering if it was going to break off while I was accelerating. Realized the part is 49 years old, ordered new replacement from BMW. Fits and is new. On to the next weak link ;)

Can be repaired, but doesn't last, crap design. New ones don't last forever either. Mine had a strip of rubber glued lengthways following the shape of the bit that attaches to the metal rod with a cable tie at the narrowest part, but it failed so i have a new one, wondering how long for though. There was a pedal change after 9/73 according to real oem which may account for Beamers bracket placement

Yes will have to move it as it does not work in its current position. Car was brought with the pedal missing so I purchased a new one from w+n.
